Chainsaw driver's license for self-promoters of firewood in NRW, valid in NRW
The course imparts the knowledge and skills required for the free-time self-professional of firewood for the safe and professional use of the chain saw for simple work in the forest on lying and standing wood. More info
The course fee is €235 (net: € 197.48 ) per participant.

The theoretical part takes place on Fridays in our branch in Rheinbach from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The practical part takes place on Saturdays in the forest. It starts around 8 a.m.

Course contents are in detail:
- Health and safety regulations
- personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safety devices on the chainsaw
- Chainsaw components and handling of the chainsaw
- Presentation and application of common cutting tools
- Notch system and cutting exercises
- Processing and risk potential of large hardwood crowns
- Felling techniques under simple conditions and with a breast height diameter of up to 35 cm
- safe methods for bringing down suspended trees
- Cutting techniques on wood under tension
- Tool repair including sharpening of the chainsaw chain
The participation requirements are:
- Participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Participants whose physical or mental suitability is considered insufficient by the course leader are to be excluded from the course.
- You must bring your own chainsaw with the usual safety equipment (with the signet: "Geprüfte Sicherheit"/GS and/or the inspection sticker of the "Forstlicherprüfungsausschuss"/FPA).
- The complete, functioning personal protective equipment must be worn by the course participants during the practical instruction.
It consists of:- Protective helmet with face and hearing protection (with a valid imprint that must not be older than 5 years)
- Chainsaw protection trousers (with signal colors or with fluorescent strips)
- Safety shoes/boots with chainsaw protection inserts (class 1; shoes with steel toe caps alone are not enough!)
