Insulation drying function

When drying the insulation layer, the aim is to completely remove the excess moisture caused by water damage. This is the only way to stop the damage processes and to preserve the properties of the insulating layer above the screed and below the top covering.

At the Mietpartner Insulation layer dryers are used to process the insulation layer using a vacuum process. In this process, the air is sucked out of the insulation layer via drill holes in the screed plate. This is done using a side channel compressor, which can overcome the flow resistance of the insulation layer. The room air dried by a construction dryer is brought into the insulation layer via the edge joints and the inlet holes, where it is enriched with water and can then be specifically removed using the water separator.

How long does the insulation layer have to dry?

The drying time usually depends on the amount of water absorbed. Our insulation layer drying systems are suitable for room sizes of up to 50m².
If you consult the standard drying times of the VdS3150 , a drying time of 2-3 weeks is quite possible.

However, circumstances such as the amount of moisture that has penetrated, the type and thickness of the insulation layer, and the degree of moisture penetration in the screed must always be taken into account
