Fassbender Tenten supplies the building materials and work materials for construction professionals and “temporary professional customers”.

There are these companies that you can recognize from afar by their Logo before reading the writing in it. Fassbender Tenten is certainly one of them in the Rhineland, as the company has a long and very successful tradition in the region. And it's as much a part of the construction site as a hammer, trowel, and wheelbarrow.
One of the typical questions journalists ask is how long the company has been around, which can look back on a "long tradition". Paul Faßbender doesn't hesitate for a second and says: "Since 1620!" The rascal is breathing down the neck of senior boss Paul Faßbender, but the statement is true. The family history, which worked as carpenters up to the 1930s, can be traced back to this year. Then Christian Fassbender Sr., father of Paul Fassbender, used a considerable lottery win to set up a trading center for wood and cement.

This marked the beginning of the steady rise of the company, which in 1992 became Tenten which is still present in the company name today. Since 1980, the Faßbender family has also been a franchisee of the DIY stores OBI – and has thus made the leap into retail. This step was very successful and forward-looking, as the company data shows: At four locations in the region, Fassbender Tenten and OBI on the same site. Construction professionals and DIY enthusiasts meet not only in the parking lot, but also in their respective stores – and thus the exchange goes beyond the excellent advice that both companies stand for.
Christian Faßbender, who developed the company together with his brother Thomas, who sadly passed away in 2017, attaches great importance to the term "family business." He is rightly proud of the developments, because "800 jobs along the Rhine, plus 20,000 constantly available stock items at Fassbender Tenten and 45,000 at OBI “ – these are all figures that reflect an extremely good organizational structure and constant reinvestment.
And the customers are obviously also impressed by the concept: OBI counts 1.5 million visitors at its five locations, who stock up on plants, bathroom accessories, tools, wallpaper, wood, sockets and much, much more. Fassbender Tenten In contrast, construction professionals and "temporary professional customers" stand at the building materials drive-thru. They usually know exactly what they want, have ordered and paid for the goods, and while the warehouse employees pack the materials into the cars, there's often time for a chat.

Or they take a look at the devices that MIETPARTNER This service from Fassbender Tenten offers everything a construction site needs, from hammer drills to chainsaws to excavators. Professionals who need to equip their employees at short notice or home renovators can rent the special tools here.
And so it gradually becomes clearer why Logo from Fassbender Tenten in the Rhineland is so well known: Behind it is a family business that remains true to its goals and operates soundly, but is constantly developing and does not shy away from large-scale projects. A good example of this is the new building of the Tenten -Carré on Bornheimer Straße in Bonn -Nord. The former Thyssen site now houses not only the building materials store and the huge two-story OBI -DIY market with the highest garden center in the city, but also a medical center, 35 residential units and a large grocery store.
